My Design Brief .
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification .
I'm making a FlipBook for 6th graders to understand the Design Cycle .

11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
There are many requirements ; like being creative , coming up with a good idea for a FlipBook .

12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
The mouse of the computer ; it is very wobbly and not accurate .

13. How will you "test" your project?
By letting a friend watch it & critique my work .

Design Specifications .
  • Teach the 6th graders about the Design Cycle .
  • Make sure they understand the concept of it .
  • Show it to them in a fun way .
  • Explain what it's used for .
  • It will be simple .
  • Make sure its not too complicated .
  • Be sure its fun !

Test For My Product .
I will show the 6th graders the FlipBook and explain to them each slide . After , I will give them a test with 12 questions on it too see what they learned from it . I will them too video once more too make sure they actually understand the concept of the Design Cycle .

FlipBook

I gave Backgrounds a 3 , because you can actually make your own Backgrounds . It's all your own creativity and ideas , but the only bad thing is that you can't choose a Background . There are no Backgrounds already in FlipBook , you must create it all yourself . Its still worth more when its your own ideas and creativity and design .
For Characters , I gave it a 4 because you make your own Characters . Which is very awesome , because it shows your own creativity and design . FlipBook its all your own ideas and creativity which can really express who you are and more . Characters is a really huge part of the project and of FlipBook . It really makes the project stand out even more .
For Text , I rated it a 3  because its hard too write some text in it because the mouse moves a lot . Text is a huge part but its a little hard too do when your mouse isn't really all that good and there's no bubble for Text which sucks . You can make a bubble but it won't come out that good because once again there's no bubble for Text and it will be made by using your mouse which aren't that good .
For Simplicity , I rated it a 5 because everyone cause use it with no troubles or confusion . FlipBook is a lot more easier and understandable than Comic Master . I didn't really know what I was doing with Comic Master , but with FlipBook I was in full control of what I was doing and understood what was going on . FlipBook was a really easy website too use which is why I perfer it over Comic Master .

Comic Master

I gave Comic Master these ratings in each of the different categories . First I will start talking about Backgrounds . I gave Backgrounds a 3 because its not all that good . You only have a limited amount of Backgrounds too choose from and there not all that good . If you had an existing account with Comic Master , then you would have many more Backgrounds too choose from and much more . The Backgrounds are really good but since I have no account , I'm limited too very few Backgrounds .
For Characters , I gave it a 2 because I wasn't able to choose any Characters . I was able to see some of the Characters but I was not able too use any of them . The Characters were actually really good but since I was not able too use any of them , not even just to try to them out so I decided too give it a 2 .
Comic Master is really good too use if you have an existing account , if not there's really no use in being able to add Characters .
For Text , I rated it a 2 because I couldn't post any Text in the comic strip . Jus like in Characters , I must have a account in order too be able too have more features and be able to put Text . Using Text is a huge part of comics , because it can display many things . Text is a huge part of comic books , and a huge part of Comic Master , in order to be able too use this feature I would need to make an account but I don't have one which is a huge let down .
For Simplicity , I rated it a 1 because it was very complicated too me . I didn't fully understand how too use the site , plus i didn't have much to work with . With Comic Master I was lost almost the entire time which is sad because I'm usually really good with computers .

Competition .

In the 'FlipBook' website , it says that as a guest , I would only be able to use 100 templates .  On 'Comic Master' you are able too create backgrounds , decide how you want it too look , choose characters , and much more . By working with 'Comic Master' it lets me have more advantages too making a comic book . Using 'FlipBook' it seems that 'Comic Master' is more complicated and harder too use , plus with 'FlipBook' I have much control about what I could do . While using 'Comic Master' I could only choose one background per slide , with 'FlipBook' I am able too create anything I want .
In my conclusion , 'FlipBook' is better , and that's what i will use for my presentation of the Design Cycle . Using 'Comic Master' I would have to have an account too have more access too making a comic book , but I don't have one so I have too choose , 'FlipBook'.
